Now that the holidays are over and school is back and session, the wheelchair basketball season kicks back up. 2013 marks an important year for our wheelchair basketball program at Auburn University. This year will bring us to our first Intercollegiate Division tournaments. We have been a part of the divsion for the entire season, but have not played in specifically intercollegiate tournaments. These tournaments offer new challenges and added motivation to train.

I have played on different levels of teams in wheelchair basketball, but the intercollegiate teams seem to be some of the most intense when it comes to training. These athletes practice everyday and are some of the best at what they do. With that it mind, I have returned to practice with my own team, and I am looking forward to seeing the development of the program here at Auburn. The athletes here will be introduced to a whole new level of wheelchair basketball. I know that we will face difficult opponents and at times it may seem like we are in over our heads, but this truly is a historic time for our program and our university. Hopefully, we can continue to develop and help other programs to do the same.
