This month Congress is reviewing SSI benefit standards for children. It appears that recent reports have indicated that some parents have sought SSI benefits to increase their monthly income rather than to serve the needs of their dependent children.

We often hear that exercising would be good for us. We even agree that we should exercise more often. We plan to exercise. But studies show that even though most people know about the benefits of exercise, the intention to exercise is a very weak predictor of actually exercising.

Did you know that fiber, besides helping to regulate our digestive system, also has other health benefits such as decreasing risk of certain diseases and weight management. The old adage, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, may have science to help back it up. An increase in research is showing that fiber may stave off heart disease, diabetes, cancer and weight gain.
