Each year the pressure is on to make a change regarding health in January. It seems easy to say you want a change. However, making the commitment and keeping it, is a totally different outcome. In speaking with other aquatic professionals, the one thing that rings true is MOVE. Move forward into that change, mentally and physically. Create in you, a self-commitment, even if it is just one thing in your life you have changed. Here are some easy changes you can MOVE into:
- Drink Water – if you are already a water drinker, make sure you are drinking enough for your height and weight.
- Walk or Roll – in your private space or adventure out. Go the extra lap from your daily regimen.
- Eat new foods – place a rainbow on your plate with your choices of foods and their color. Fruits and vegetables have an array of colors.
- Go to the Gym- get acquainted with your local recreation center or fitness center. Have fun and jump in.
- Get enough sleep – limit your social media, or electronic usage an hour before bedtime. Giving the brain a rest from that type of stimuli can promote a restful sleep.
- Learn a relaxation exercise – being still in your body can support a healthy change for your organs while guiding it into a mindful meditation.
You only have one body. What you choose to do with it is up to us. Move into a healthy change and have fun along the way. If it becomes taxing or feels like a job, you will more than likely quit. Be empowered by yourself and become a healthier you.
