Getting through the winter by planning ahead for your Summer Vacation!

Just about this time, when it has snowed for the seventh gray day in a row, (in the third month of a gray and bitter winter) I start thinking nostalgically of summer. I have almost forgotten about mosquito bites and sunburn, and fondly recall the way I can just run out of the house without boots, hats, gloves, a ski parka and pashmina. Not to mention chapstick and a snow shovel to dig out the car. Those were the days!

When planning for my summer trip this year, I am thinking of heading up to the Elk Range in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, to Crested Butte.

The Adaptive Sports Center in Crested Butte has a full range of extreme and challenging activities on handcycles, bikes, rafts, canoes, ropes and so on. Anything you can think of sliding, rolling, swinging, riding, or floating on- they have it and more.

The summer season runs from May 20 to August 20, 2011 and the rates are attractive for families. Scholarships are available.
